Yes, HocktoberFest is an actual thing and it is splendid. The best of all things Oktoberfest – cool fall weather, autumn beverages and food – combined with the beginning of hockey season. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
The University of Denver ‘s HocktoberFest event offered pretzels, hot food, and beer with a bit of air hockey, games and music to celebrate the beginning of their Denver Hockey season and homecoming.
The NHL’s Minnesota Wild also joined in the fun and offered fans an outstanding beer mug to celebrate the event.
Hopefully many more teams, from minor leagues to major leagues, will join the HocktoberFest bandwagon next October.
