First, a disclaimer: I do not like beer. Now, don’t panic. It isn’t all beer, just hoppy beer. However, there are many beers out there that do not fit that category. Many of the Belgian beers are absolutely wonderful and you might as well know right now that I adore cider. Hard cider. The good stuff. Dry, crisp, and refreshing. So, there you have it. All of my beer sins.
Raspberry Cream Beer Mix
- Blanche de Bruxelles
- a splash of Lindemans Framboise
Monday evening I tried a Raspberry Cream beer mix at my local pub McNellie’s and it is delightfully refreshing! It is dry and crisp with that overlay of raspberry but not sweet at all. You might recognize Blanche de Bruxelles for their version of Bruxelles’ “Manneken Pis” – the little nude boy peeing, which became the emblem of the rebellious spirit of that city.

Another mix I like is Lindemans Gueuze Cuvée René with a splash of Framboise and we will explore some of the Lambics at another time, and we will also look at my Icelandic Lava Smoked Imperial Stout adventure. That beast is amazing.
